A major scam has come to light in Karachi and Punjab, once again robbing innocent citizens by promising them jobs abroad. According to details, those seeking employment abroad were once again robbed, a man named Rao Shakeel pretended to be an agent and snatched crores of rupees from dozens of citizens. The accused gave the victims attractive dreams by making false promises of getting them jobs in Azerbaijan, which included assurances of a monthly salary of Rs 3 lakh, accommodation and other facilities. According to sources, this fraudster used to contact unemployed youth from different areas of Karachi such as Soldier Bazaar, Baldia, PIB and various cities of Punjab. The affected citizens said that Rao Shakeel received Rs 7 lakh each and said that he would take them to Azerbaijan and employ them. However, after receiving the money, he suddenly disappeared. According to reports, Rao Shakeel was hiding in Lahore some time ago. The victims have submitted applications to the FIA's Anti-Human Trafficking Cell, while the FIA has started investigating the matter. According to sources, the network and other associates of the accused are also being identified. During the investigation, it was also revealed that a brother of Rao Shakeel is posted as a constable in Jhang police station, who has taken the stand that he has declared his disassociation from his brother because he is involved in fraud. The affected citizens said that they had collected money by selling their life savings, gold, and valuables so that they could fulfill their dreams of going abroad and searching for a better future. But now they are not only suffering from financial loss but are also suffering from severe mental stress and depression. According to sources, many similar scams have come to light in the past, in which several groups belonging to different cities of Punjab were arrested by the FIA. These groups also embezzled crores of rupees from citizens by making false promises of foreign jobs. In Karachi, too, several such fraudsters have been caught earlier who used to take money from citizens and disappear in the name of jobs in Gulf countries. This new scandal is once again proof that human trafficking and illegal recruitment networks are still active, which are trapping naive and unemployed people in their nets and destroying them financially and emotionally. According to experts, public awareness campaigns, strict legislation and strict action against fraudsters are indispensable to prevent such incidents. Sources say that the FIA and related agencies are now trying to reach a large network based on this case so that more citizens can be saved from being cheated.
