Will he stand firm like AD Khawaja or Kaleem Imam or will he bow his knee? A tough test begins for IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon

Report * Sameer Qureshi

Preparations are underway to hold a funeral for merit on the issue of recruitment in Sindh Police, the lists of 4,000 new recruits have started becoming controversial. It has been learned from informed sources that last year, advertisements for recruitment in Sindh Police were published, on which thousands of young people who wanted a job submitted applications, after which the names of 4,000 young people were finalized after all the exams and interviews. According to sources, once again the Sindh government and Sindh Police have come face to face on these recruitments. Sources say that the Sindh government has provided a list of 2,000 names to the top police officials, in which political recruitments have allegedly been recommended. Sources say that Sain wants 2,000 out of the 4,000 finalized on merit to be removed and political recruitments should be made according to the list sent by us. Sources said that the Sindh Police has raised objections to the Sain government's lists, after which the issue of new recruitments has currently become a problem. In the past too, there have been differences between the Sindh Police and the Sindh government. The issue of recruitment has been discussed many times. In the past, when AD Khawaja was the IG Sindh, he made recruitments in the Sindh Police on merit. Even then, the Sindh government was not happy with him. Even during the tenure of former IG Sindh Kaleem Imam, the Sindh government had expressed strong displeasure over the recruitments. However, both these officers refused to bow down to the government and made all the recruitments on merit. Now, this is a big test for IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon. Will he make recruitments on merit, incurring the displeasure of the Sindh government, or will he bow down to them and finalize their lists?
