Karachi – After more than two years of inactivity, a crackdown has been launched against builders involved in illegal and unauthorized construction projects across Karachi. In a major development, two illegal buildings in the Shah Faisal area have been sealed, and their builders arrested by the Anti-Encroachment Cell and police.

According to details, numerous illegal constructions had been reported in Shah Faisal Colony where buildings were erected without approvals from the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA). These structures violated both building codes and zoning regulations, putting the lives of residents at risk.

Residents had been continuously protesting and submitting complaints, prompting law enforcement to finally act. The arrested builders are allegedly part of a wider network that has been openly defying rules with backing from certain corrupt officials.

Officials stated that the campaign will expand citywide. Builders who fail to obtain proper approvals or submit fake documents will face strict legal action. The SBCA has also been instructed to suspend internal officials involved in facilitating illegal constructions.

The Sindh government has vowed to hold both external builders and internal SBCA personnel accountable to prevent further unauthorized development that threatens public safety.
