Baghdadi police had arrested the accused Ashok. A case has been registered against the accused Ashok on the complaint of the girl's brother. The accused was sent to jail by the court.
Karachi (Crime Reporter) A newlywed bride who went into a coma after allegedly being sexually assaulted by her husband in Shahr-e-Quaid has died. According to Police Surgeon Dr. Samia Syed, 19-year-old Shanti, who was subjected to brutal sexual assault by her husband, died at the trauma center of the Civil Hospital at 10:45 am on July 23. According to Dr. Samia Syed, the victim was shifted to the Civil Hospital in critical condition after undergoing surgery at another hospital. Initial medical examination found evidence of sexual assault. SHO Majeed Ali of Baghdadi Police Station also confirmed the girl’s death. According to him, Shanti was married to a man named Ashok on June 15 and two days later, her husband sexually assaulted her in an unnatural manner, which worsened her condition. According to the SH, a case was registered on July 5 on the complaint of the girl’s brother and the accused has also been arrested. It may be recalled that the said victim girl was brought to the trauma center in a coma on July 7 this month, where she remained under treatment for about two weeks but unfortunately died on July 23. According to the FIR registered under sections -1376 and 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code at Baghdadi police station on July 5, the complainant Sion Chango said that he is a resident of Shah Beg Lane area of Lyari, his younger sister (Shanti), who is 19 years old, was married to Ashok Mohan on June 15, 2025. The FIR said that on June 30, when the sister's condition deteriorated, they brought her back home where she told her parents that on July 17, her husband had performed unnatural sexual acts with her.
